Can I change or cancel my order?

Do you offer gift cards?
Digital gift cards are coming soon. If you would like one before they go live, email support@fredrickbailey.com and we will sort something out for you.
Will I be charged sales tax?
Any applicable U.S. sales tax is calculated at checkout based on your shipping address, so the amount you see before you pay is the amount you pay. There are no surprise fees afterwards.
02
Materials & Honesty
Do you sell pure cashmere?
No, and on purpose. Pure cashmere is lovely but very expensive, so we blend real cashmere with merino or lambswool to give you most of the softness and warmth at a price that makes sense. Every product page lists the exact blend, in full, so you always know what you are wearing.
Why is it cheaper than the luxury houses?
Two reasons. We blend rather than charge for eye-wateringly expensive pure cashmere, and we design in Britain and sell direct, skipping the department-store middle layer. The saving goes to you rather than to a logo above a shop door.
Will it pill?
Some pilling is normal for any soft knit when it is new, as the surface fibres release. Our blends are made to pill far less than cheaper yarns. Comb gently with a cashmere comb in the early weeks and it will smooth out and stay that way.
How much cashmere is in a blend?
It varies by piece, and we always tell you exactly. A typical knit is around a third real cashmere blended with merino wool for warmth and durability, though some pieces use more or less. The full composition is printed on every product page and care label.
What is the difference between cashmere, merino and lambswool?
Cashmere is the softest and lightest, prized for warmth without weight. Merino is a fine, smooth wool that is breathable and springy, excellent for everyday layers. Lambswool is the first shearing of a young sheep, soft with a fuller, cosier handle. We use each where it suits the piece, and we always say which is which on the product page.
Where is Fredrick Bailey designed?
Fredrick Bailey is designed in Britain, in the heritage-knitwear tradition, and made by skilled makers to our specification. The fibre, the gauge and the finish are chosen by us, and the full composition is printed on every product page and care label.

Shipping & Delivery
Where do you ship?
We currently ship to addresses within the United States. If you would like to order from elsewhere, email us at support@fredrickbailey.com and we will let you know whether we can help.
How much is shipping and how long does it take?
Shipping is free on U.S. orders over $100, and a flat $5.99 below that. Orders are dispatched within 1 to 2 business days, then typically arrive within 2 to 5 business days, all tracked. These are estimates and can vary with the carrier and busy periods.
How do I track my order?
As soon as your parcel ships we email you a tracking number and link. You can also follow it any time on our Track Order page.
Do you ship to PO boxes or APO and FPO addresses?
Yes, we can ship to PO boxes and to APO and FPO military addresses within the United States. Delivery to these can occasionally take a little longer than a street address.
My tracking has not updated, what should I do?
Tracking sometimes pauses for a day or two between carrier scans, which is normal. If it has not moved for several days, email support@fredrickbailey.com with your order number and we will chase it down for you.
04
Returns & Exchanges
What is your returns window?
You have 60 days from delivery to return an item. It needs to be unworn, unwashed, and in its original condition with the tags still attached. Full details are on our Returns page.
Who pays for return shipping?
For a change-of-mind return, the cost of return shipping is covered by you. If an item arrives faulty or we sent the wrong thing, that is on us and we will cover the return and put it right.
How do exchanges work?
The quickest way to exchange is to return the original for a refund and place a new order for the size or style you want. That way you are not waiting on stock to move back and forth. See our Returns page for the steps.
How long do refunds take?
Once your return reaches us and passes a quick check, we issue the refund to your original payment method within 5 to 10 business days. Your bank may then take a few more days to show it on your statement.
Can I return a sale item?
Yes. Sale and promotional items follow the same 60-day returns policy as everything else, as long as they come back unworn, unwashed, and with the tags attached.
05
Sizing & Care
How do the sizes run?
True to size with a comfortable, modern fit. If you are between sizes or prefer a relaxed drape for layering, take the size up. Every product page has a full size and fit guide to help you choose.
How do I wash cashmere and wool?
Hand wash cool, or use a gentle wool cycle, with a little cashmere or wool shampoo. Reshape the piece flat to dry, away from direct heat and sunlight. Fold rather than hang. Cared for this way, good knitwear lasts for years and only softens with time.
How do I keep moths away?
Store knitwear clean and dry, folded in a breathable cotton bag, with a cedar block or a little lavender nearby. Moths are drawn to worn pieces, so give everything a wash or air before it goes away for the season, and air the drawer now and then.
There is a loose thread, can I pull it?
Please do not pull it, as that can pucker the knit. Gently ease the thread back into the weave with a blunt needle, or simply trim it level with the surface. A snag is normal in knitwear and easily set right.
06
Gifting & Packaging
How will my order arrive?
Each piece arrives folded in cream tissue inside a recycled kraft box, simply stamped with the Fredrick Bailey mark. It is plastic-free, fully recyclable, and tidy enough to keep, so it looks like a gift before you have wrapped it.
Can I add a gift note?
Yes. Add your message in the order notes at checkout, or email support@fredrickbailey.com with your order number, and we will include a handwritten note with the parcel.
Do you offer gift wrapping?
Our standard packaging already arrives gift-ready in its tissue and kraft box. If you would like prices left off the packing slip for a gift, just let us know in the order notes and we will take care of it.
