Fredrick Bailey honest fibres
Honest by design

Honest fibres. Honest labels.

The luxury houses count on you not reading the label. We do the opposite. Every Fredrick Bailey piece names exactly what it is made of, in full, on the product page and the care tag.

We blend real cashmere with merino and lambswool, then print the exact mix on every piece. Pure cashmere costs a fortune; a well-made blend gives you most of the softness and warmth for far less. No vague "luxury fibre" wording, no markup for a name, just genuinely good knitwear at a fair price.

FAQ

Questions, answered

The short version on fibres, fit, care and delivery. Anything else, our full FAQ and team are a click away.

Do you sell pure cashmere?
No, and on purpose. Pure cashmere is lovely but very expensive, so we blend real cashmere with merino or lambswool to give you most of the softness and warmth at a price that makes sense. Every product page lists the exact blend, in full.
Why is it cheaper than the luxury houses?
Two reasons. We blend rather than charge for eye-wateringly expensive pure cashmere, and we sell direct with no boutique markup. You get the look and feel for a fraction of the price.
How much cashmere is in a blend?
It varies by piece, and we always tell you exactly. A typical knit is around a third real cashmere blended with merino wool for warmth and durability. The full composition is on every product page and care label.
How do I care for cashmere and wool?
Hand wash cool or use a wool cycle, with a little cashmere or wool shampoo. Reshape flat to dry, away from direct heat. Fold rather than hang. Cared for this way, good knitwear lasts for years and only softens.
How should I store my knitwear?
Fold it rather than hang it, somewhere dry. Over the warmer months keep it in a breathable cotton bag with a cedar block or a little lavender to keep moths off. Give it some air now and then, and it will be ready each autumn.
Will it pill?
Some pilling is normal for any soft knit when it is new, as loose surface fibres work free. Our blends are made to pill far less than cheap yarns, and a gentle pass with a cashmere comb in the early weeks keeps it smooth for years.
How do the sizes run?
True to size with a comfortable, modern fit. If you are between sizes or prefer a relaxed drape, take the size up. Every product page has a full size and fit guide.
What is your returns policy?
Sixty days from delivery to return or exchange, unworn with the tags on. Change-of-mind return shipping is on you; if a piece is faulty or we sent the wrong thing, we cover it. Full details on our returns page.
Do you ship outside the U.S.?
Right now we ship within the United States. If you are abroad and have your eye on a piece, email support@fredrickbailey.com and we will let you know whether we can help.
How quickly will it arrive?
Free U.S. shipping on orders over $100, in 2 to 5 business days, tracked from the moment it leaves us.
